As participation to Instituto Cervantes de Manila’s celebration of the International Book Day, One Meralco Foundation (OMF) donated 500 Philippine literary books to the school’s online book drive campaign dubbed as “Mas Libros, Mas Libres” (or More books, More freedom) which aims to promote reading in the secondary and tertiary levels. Beneficiaries of the campaign are libraries of public high schools, colleges and universities.
“It is undeniable that the youth is actively involved in society giving them a hand in affecting change,” said Meralco chief CSR officer and OMF president Jeffrey O. Tarayao. “We believe that reading is a very essential skill that can help them realize their potential as future leaders of the nation.”
